SNMP Scanner Network Security Software Downloads

Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is a UDP-based an application layer network protocol which was developed to manage devices on an IP network. SNMP scanner uses SNMP MIB and SNMP traps for monitoring routers in a network. The SNMP community string or community name defines the relationship between an SNMP server system and the client systems. This string acts like a password to control the devices like Windows Server, Cisco routers access to the server. Windows based SNMP Scanner a network tool checks default SNMP community names running on the IP network against a file containing default community string names. The purpose of SNMP scanner is to prove the concept that the community string should not be common or easily guessable. If a hacker gets the community name then he owns the network, therefore meticulous care should be given while making a SNMP community.

Most of the SNMP software use default communities like:
Write = private
Read = public
